Magnetite Range Project

The Magnetite Range project is an advanced iron project with gold potential, located 250km east of Geraldton adjacent to the Great Northern Highway, 65kms south of Paynes Find.

Project Highlights

Resource

  • Increased by >20% in 2024
  • Now totals 523.3 Mt @ 31.3% Fe

Ideal Location

  • Located within 250km of the export port of Geraldton adjacent to the Great Northern highway.

Development Potential

  • Studies underway to define the development pathway to operations.

The Magnetite Range Project (MRP) is strategically located in the rapidly developing Western Australian mid-west iron ore region.

It is in close proximity to planned renewable energy and downstream green steel processing facilities. The project lies immediately to the west of the Great Northern Highway and access to existing infrastructure enhances the project’s export potential and reduces logistics costs.

In 2024 the Magnetite Range resource estimate (JORC code 2012) was increased by over 20% to 523.3Mt at 31.3% Fe (Iron). Clear pathways have been identified to further increase the resource over the main 14km+ Banded Iron Formation (BIF) trend and other targets identified within Accents tenement package.

Mineral Resources are reported in accordance with the JORC Code (2012 Edition); Mineral Resources within an optimised open pit shell and above a 15% Davis Tube Recovery (DTR) cut-offl MIneral Resources exclkude oxide domain material; Approximately 97% of the Mineral Resources are reported below the water table; Tonnage information has been rounded and as a result the figures may not add up to the total quoted.

Accent has been advancing the MRP through a series of focused exploration initiatives which led to a resource increase being published in 2024. Studies are now underway to consider the development options and pathways. Study activities include mine design, metallurgical test work, process flowsheet design and development, evaluation of power and water requirements and economic evaluation. Accent have been working on local flora, fauna and heritage surveys to support the regulatory approvals process.

Metallurgical Test work on the magnetite has shown very favourable metallurgical characteristics and indicates that a clean, saleable magnetite concentrate can be produced efficiently, with low energy requirements and good recovery rates.

The high grade, low impurity concentrate that will be supplied by MRP is essential as a feedstock for advanced steel making technologies including Direct Reduced Iron (DRI). Combined with renewable energy these techniques are a crucial step towards the decarbonisation of the steel industry.

Accent Resources is strongly supported by its major shareholders and remains committed to advancing through the stages required for development of the Magnetite Range Project
